The title is a bit pompous as today is not a windy day but I liked the sound of this.  Just to introduce myself to you, my name is Little Ms. Blackie.  I used to be called Little Miss Blackie but that is so old school so decided to update my name for the 21 Century.  I am a little late as the title Ms. has been around for some time.  However, as I am a small feral cat who lives outside it has taken a bit of time for all that stuff to filter down to me.    As you can tell by my name I am a little black female cat who is slightly pudgy and am about six years old or more.  Not sure how old that is in human years but who cares.  I hear that six years is a lot of time for a feral living outside in a cold climate in Canada.  The human trapped me some time ago and took me to a place where humans in white coats put me to sleep and then did some other stuff so that males would no longer be interested in me.  Not sure if I liked it but I got through and survived.  I know I had one kitten before that time but he disappeared and I have never seen him again.  Too bad as he was so beautiful.

I have been living around a human’s deck for some time now and I do let her pet me now and then.  This human can’t be all that bad as I am provided with food and water 24/7 and 365 days of the year.  I even have a heated water dish, and believe me when it gets to -25 degrees Celsius in January I do appreciate this.  I also gets lots of treats apart from the canned food and crunchies.  I have a nice cat house to live in on the deck and I get new straw at least two or three times a year.  Lots of comfy straw makes it not a bad place to seek shelter from the elements.  I had a sort of companion, a black male that was called Starbuck, but he has not been around since Christmas.  I know the human is hoping that someone took him inside as she was contemplating taking him to those people in white coats to do stuff to him.  Maybe he understood and decided that was not for him but he was very friendly with the human.  In any case, a new cat has come around and he is a bit of a pest.  I think his name is ShyGuy2 and he is not too pretty…..sort of tortoiseshelland a bit scruffy looking.  He took over the cat house as I won’t live with anyone else and I had to find a new place to stay safe and dry at night.  One of the other humans had a heated shed that I live under at least while the cold weather remains.  Time to say goodnight but I wish the humans inside would stop whining and complaining about the weather.  They should try to stay warm outside at night like me.  Hah! I would just love to see them try.  Time to go or as I understand a famous person called Emerson once said, Tomorrow is a new day.”
