Monday Feb 13th I learned that the Prime Minister of Canada visited Pres. Trump at the Whitehouse.  From what I could see on TV they seemed to hit it off and there was no fighting or ominous looks from Trump.  But I guess any leader of a country would not go to Washington to pick a fight with Trump because the US has a biggy supply of guns and weapons.  When I watch TV I can see that guns play a big part American society.  I really prefer the Animal Planet channel as I can see many of my animal friends and we just never use guns, but they are often used on us who are not harming anyone.  I have heard mom telling someone that Trump’s sons love to “visit” game reserves in Africa where for a lot of $$$$ they get to kill beautiful animals that are raised just to be killed by people like them.  For money they get to pretend that they are the great white hunter, whatever that is.

But I did want to talk about Trump and Trudeau and their round table of women with Ivanka Trump.  Since I should say something positive, Ivanka and Justin are very photogenic and have lovely big white teeth. Anyone watching who does not have great big white teeth must feel a wee bit jealous. I’m not as I cannot imagine their teeth in my mouth. I would be a world wonder dog or very silly looking.   Mom was reading an article on one of the on-line rags which said that Ivanka was looking at Trudeau like he was a “Disney prince come to life.”  And I would like to know if this task force is to promote just businesswomen in the top 1% or will they branch out to other women in the workplace. My mom thinks it is a vanity project for Trump’s daughter.  Well, I guess if Trump is president he can set up lots of vanity projects.  Isn’t that what they all do?  Why else would someone want to be President. I hope that they will also talk about health care and women and if the government cuts back on that then what is the point of a task force.  Will this be like “drain the swamp” that Trump promised or “fill the swamp fuller” like he is presently doing with billionaires and Wall St. types.

 Unlike a lot of other countries where the President or Prime Minister is actually able to govern, in the USA most of them can’t really govern without the consent of all parties, even those opposed to their policies.  It is supposed to be a system of checks and balances, but seems to me that the constitution was written by aristocratic men who were very nervous about the people actually governing.  I often just repeat what I hear humans say as I can’t exactly vote.  I have heard that dead humans sometimes vote in elections and someone’s horse voted a few years ago so why not dogs, especially smart Beagles like me.
