Big news I was told this morning.  President Trump cancelled his meeting on NAFTA with President of Mexico, Enrico Pena Nieto.  What a great sounding name, very melodic.

And everyone was talking about the Trump Wall.  I guess Mr. Trump and Mr. Nieto were fighting about who was going to pay for it.  I know that humans like to fight publicly but as leaders of their countries it might make more sense to meet and talk privately about their problems. But what do I know as a dog.  I have to keep my opinions to myself as the humans don’t really understand my non-verbal communication, unless I want to go outside or want food. They understand that but not much else.

And while my step-mom was watching CNN this morning I saw parts of the US states that would be home to the wall.  Some parts of the wall will be in a river…..how will they do that?  And what is to stop those from building underneath the wall.  Didn’t the most notorious drug dealer do that from a secure prison and the tunnel was one mile long I heard.  I guess the Americans like to pay big bucks for things like that. I heard they might even be able to see it from space, just the Great Wall of China which never kept out any invaders.  This could be a great tourist attraction with lots of hot-dog (not real dog) and pizza stands as Americans love this food.  It is good too.

I should not be presenting hearsay as I have no knowledge of how to build walls except when they put me in the bathroom before they go out I am confronted by four walls so I know how frustrating that can be.  But I can’t dig underneath the wall as there are ceramic tiles and they are not easy to dig up. But I guess if the Americans dig down deep enough (I wonder how deep and how expensive) they might be able to prevent anyone from digging tunnels.  Is this Trump’s solution to creating more jobs?  Maybe Trump plans to dig it one mile deep. I imagine it will employ lots of people for a long time.  Building a bridge can take years so this wall could be an ongoing project to create lots of good jobs that Trump talks about.  I don’t think there is any coal down in this area but they could always try to find some and create more jobs.

My step-mom was reading an article in the local paper about fake news and she started to laugh and talk about Newspeak and Doublethink.  Not sure what they are but step-dad started mumbling about some book that was written years ago.  He mentioned a date but I have trouble keeping the human years in my mind.  They are both ex-English teachers so I guess they read that book but it has been all over the news and she told him it was on the #1 Amazon list last week or some time ago.  Who is this Amazon she talks about?  I heard it was a river but I guess it also sends stuff to humans when they order.  Would love to order some delicious treats but not sure if it is a dog-food company.  Anyway, thinking about this wall has given me a small headache as I don’t really know how long a mile is.  Do I get walked a mile each day or not? That is the problem I have to work on now.  And how do I complain if I don’t know.
