Have never seen the Republican Party in such ethical disarray. I actually learned a new word yesterday, and for a Beagle I am becoming a little better informed about politics. The word is sycophant and it means “A person who attempts to gain advantage by flattering influential people or behaving in a servile manner.” I guess this describes almost the entire Republican Congress and Senate. They are so enthralled that they might actually get to throw millions of Americans off health care and open up the rivers and parks and anywhere else for business to pollute to their hearts’ content. The coal industry, the Auto makers, and any other businesses that hate government restrictions meant to keep the environment from killing more Americans should be extremely happy.
Trump and his Trumped-up sycophants must be drooling at all the financial payback they will get at election time. They might not need their big billionaires doling out money to them as they can get all the polluters to keep them going.
The President gives away state secrets because he has no idea what is really important and his only concern is for himself and how he looks to his supporters. Mike Flynn was a paid representative for the interests of Russia and Turkey while Trump was courting him to serve in his government as National Security Advisor. I guess they expected the USA to look the other way when they oppress their own people. What a wonderful gang of legislators we have.
We have a president that wakes up at 2:00 a.m. and tweets his nonsense to the country. And when he speaks it is truly awful. I heard him on TV yesterday at a commencement ceremony for the US Coast Guard on May 17 and he stated, “No politician in history -- and I say this with great surety -- has been treated worse or more unfairly.” Why would he even inject this into his speech. He is not the first president that has been criticized and he won’t be the last. Did no one tell him that this goes with the territory of a being a politician. He also said the following, “I’ve loosened up the strangling environmental chains wrapped around our country and our economy, chains so tight that you couldn’t do anything…” This truly blew me away. He is so out of touch with the environment and what is happening in the world to the climate that I guess living high up in Trump Towers with climate control and solid gold bathroom faucets gave him a sense that this was the real environment and not the parks and the rivers, streams and country where people live.
History will mark Trump as the worst President of the United States. This is a country in which there have been some awesome Presidents but Trump will never be among them. And future history classes will be taught that Trump’s so-called Christian Republicans like Ryan and Pence were ever eager to destroy the USA and make it the laughing stock of the entire world. They got lots of cash for doing that.
